Job Description

Join us in supporting and developing acquisitions and procurement services within the Department of Digital Innovation.

This is an exciting new role created as part of a re-organisation of Professional Services within the University. The role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of a newly converged department of Digital Innovation that encompasses both Library and IT services.

The successful candidate will support the team’s acquisitions and procurement activities, and provide suitable expertise in e-resource licensing.  You will also maintain the department’s asset register.

It will be necessary to work to a high level of accuracy, but equally you will need to be open to change and innovation. You will have great communication skills, and be able to build excellent relationships with a variety of stakeholders including students, staff, and suppliers. You will also be quick to learn, adapt to, and use new technologies.

The ability to work independently, show initiative and be flexible will also be essential as this role involves an element of lone working (supported by CCTV and on-campus security).

Previous experience of acquisitions, procurement and/or licensing activities within library or IT domains, or similar, will be an advantage.

The hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, with the possibility of one late night per week during term time when the post holder would work 1pm to 8pm.
