Acquisitions and Metadata Librarian

 

Location: Brighton - Moulsecoomb

Salary: £30,942 to £34,804 per annum

 

We are seeking an experienced librarian to manage and develop the Library Services’ acquisitions and metadata operations. If you are keen to provide a customer focused, cost effective and responsive service to the university libraries then this is the role for you.

An experienced staff manager, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have direct line management, leadership and developmental responsibilities for the acquisitions and metadata team c 6 staff.

A professional librarian, with substantial experience in an acquisitions and metadata role, you will utilize recognised cataloguing standards (AACR2, RDA) to ensure maximise discoverability of the libraries’ collections through a range of resource discovery tools.

You will have an understanding of the traditional, and an interest in the emerging scholarly communications landscape and the implications for content acquisitions and delivery.

You should be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative with strong IT skills and an understanding and enthusiasm for metadata work.

This is a permanent, full time role.
