We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated applicant with a desire to work in a busy teaching hospital library, within a small friendly team. You MUST have a qualification in Librarianship/ Information Science at degree or post-graduate level to be able to perform the key duties of this post. You will ideally have proven experience in academic or healthcare librarianship and be familiar with library resources to support healthcare professionals. Experienced in literature searching, you will find high quality information and synthesise this to support evidence-based practice and research. Your input will help inform clinical and management decision-making.

You will be competent in assisting library users with finding detailed resources and answering health information enquiries. User-focussed and with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills you will be an effective team player with an aptitude for problem solving, searching relevant health databases, troubleshooting Library IT and elearning issues, and promoting library services. You will devise and deliver training sessions and advise staff how to search for resources for their own research and continuing professional development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with hospital colleagues and implement service improvements to enhance the experience and outcomes for both patients and staff. 

Development/career opportunities. All library staff are expected to keep up-to-date with current developments and ensure their professional skills are maintained. There is plenty of opportunity to undertake role specific training; this is supported in-house, regionally, and nationally by HEE.
