THE COURTAULD INSTITUTE OF ART

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN, CATALOGUING AND SHORT LOANS

Part-time (21 hours/week), fixed-term (maternity cover to July 2020)

Grade 5 - £19,326 per annum (pro rata £32,211 per annum)

 

The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. 

Applications are invited for a fixed term, maternity cover post in the Library for a cataloguing and short loans position.

Duties include cataloguing and classifying new acquisitions, maintaining the short loan collection, Library help desk duties, enquiries, user education and Library documentation. 

You will need substantial knowledge and experience of cataloguing and classification as well as the ability to learn new cataloguing and classification skills quickly. You should also have excellent IT skills and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills.
