Hours of work:          Full time; 35 Hours, Monday – Friday; 10am – 6pm

Role Overview:

The AA Library supports all the teaching and research programmes within the AA School of Architecture, as well as providing a loan and reference service to Members. We are seeking a professionally qualified Librarian with experience of working in a library, preferably an academic or research library. The post-holder must have a flexible approach, and is eager to participate in delivering a first class Library and information service.

The Assistant Librarian is responsible for a wide range of duties including providing professional support and high-quality reader services; serials management, for both print and e-journals; managing the scanning service; and assisting with supporting students with the skills needed for effective research, including the delivery of information literacy sessions. The post-holder also contributes to the promotion of the collections, and helps generally with collections management. The post-holder will work with a friendly and enthusiastic team of five Library staff, alongside student assistants.

Applicants will be expected to work on a hybrid model, working remotely at least one day a week.
