Assistant Librarian - Retrieval Teams Leader

The Word & Image Department (WID) provides access to its collections through the National Art Library reading rooms, the Prints & Drawings Study Room and the Archive & Library Study Room at Blythe House.
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Librarian to help manage the service delivery across these busy study rooms and to participate in all aspects of the WID public service.
The role includes line management of a team of service assistants who provide retrieval support across the Department and who undertake framing of art works to support the V&A’s programme of exhibitions, displays, loans and touring shows. The Assistant Librarian – Retrieval Teams Leader also deputises for the Reading & Study Rooms Manager.
The successful candidate will have a library or information science qualification, or significant experience of working in a library or information service environment. You should also have the ability to supervise staff.
You will enjoy working to effect positive change and will be comfortable delivering to deadlines under time pressure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent inter-personal and customer services skills and should also be confident working with digital systems.
