Salary range: £27,741 - £30,451 per annum

Work location: County Library, Oxford

Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

Contract type: Temporary for 24 months

About us

Oxfordshire Libraries are preparing to launch a Business Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) in its flagship city library in the heart of Oxford in a new and rare opportunity to join the developing BIPC network in libraries which are funded by The British Library.


About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified librarian or information specialist to set up a business advisor service that will support a new business service for new and emerging entrepreneurs in Oxfordshire, in particular women, people from ethnic minorities and young people. The project will initially be led by commissioned partners and a Business Engagement & Marketing Manager with The British Library to establish a programme of in-person as well as online learning and networking activities which you will help to deliver. A satellite service is anticipated in a large town as the project develops.


About you

You should be able to work with a wide range of resources, both print and digital, that support business enquiries. You should be able to give new entrepreneurs confidence in using these tools. You will be supported by library staff and also by the BIPC team at The British Library. You will be involved in supporting possibly delivering workshops to customers. You should have an approachable demeanour and be able to enthuse and help ordinary people develop their business ideas, modest or grand, in these challenging times.
