We are seeking a Collections Librarian, who will join as a key member of the Library & Learning Services team, to lead on the selection, acquisition and management of library resources to support students and staff.
About the Role
Within this role you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and organization of all library materials. You will lead the Collections Team, managing workflows, procedures, and the Library Management System. Collaborating with the Subscriptions and Database Licensing Manager, you will liaise with Subject Librarians on collection management, development, and promotion. Additionally, you will play a key role in operational planning, policy development, and objective setting aligned with the Library and Learning Services strategy. Your responsibilities will extend to participating in management groups, promoting the reputation of Library and Learning Services, and ensuring the maintenance of the library building. You will also ensure high service quality, and will contribute to customer service excellence, engage in professional development, and undertake various duties within the post's scope.
About You
You will be an experienced Library Professional with a good understanding of Collections Management processes. You will be an excellent leader with experience of team management/supervision. Excellent customer service and communication skills are paramount to you, and you are always keen to take initiative and problem solve. Excellent ICT skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, web authoring and use of social media are a given.
