UWE Bristol is an ambitious university. Together, our people are working hard to advance knowledge, inspire people and transform futures. We are looking for people with the skills and ambition to help us achieve those aims.
UWE Bristol Library Services delivers outstanding library resources and services to students and staff. We support a large and diverse student body of over 28,000, both in the UK and internationally, with our growing digital collections and services.
We are looking to appoint a motivated Librarian to manage the Digitisation and Document Delivery section of the Collections Team based at our Frenchay campus library. This busy and dynamic section works to deliver digitised content to our users, including the production of digitised readings under the terms of the Copyright Licensing Agency licence, and material in alternative formats for disabled students. The team also runs the interlibrary loans service, and offers copyright support and advice across the University in relation to the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) licence and the permitted use of library information resources.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Librarians, as well as colleagues seeking to develop their line management skills and experiences in a key, ever changing area of work. You will have the opportunity to deliver process improvement projects, supervise support staff in the team and develop and deliver briefings and training to staff on a variety of topics.
To be successful in this post you will need:
• To enjoy working as part of a team
• To establish good working relationships with library colleagues and external stakeholders
• To have excellent IT skills and understanding
• To be self-motivated, reliably delivering work to agreed timeframes
• To take a flexible and adaptable approach to a changing library environment
You will have, or be working towards, a professional qualification in a library/information related subject via a CILIP approved route. We are committed to fully supporting our staff in their continuing professional development.
This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
In addition to progressive pay rates we offer a wide range of staff benefits which includes a holiday allowance of 25 days as well as up to 12.5 bank holiday/closure days per year, flexible working, excellent defined benefit pension schemes and a range of family friendly policies.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give our students access to everything they need to succeed – with £300m having been spent recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation to enhance our offer even further. Frenchay campus is within close proximity to excellent motorway links and within walking distance of two train stations, making UWE Frenchay Campus the ideal place to work for those wishing to commute to Bristol.
