Starting salary £41,526 - £49,553 per annum with progression opportunities to £54,131

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join the Senior Management Team within Library and Learning Support, to develop and to implement the forward strategy for our collections to 2025. A key part of this role is to manage the content and resources budget which is worth over £2 million pounds annually.

Our collections are wide ranging in content, media and scope, reflecting the University’s teaching, research and professional practice.  Our systems include a Capita Library Management System; Talis Aspire; Eprints repositories, EBSCO EDS discovery system and Parabilis e-procurement.  

Your leadership and vision will help to shape the way in which the library’s collections are developed, discovered and optimised to best advantage by our students and staff. This activity will underpin the reshaping of the built library environment through the opening of a new campus library in 2020 and longer term developments within the main university library. Your experience of data management and governance issues will contribute to the ongoing development of our open access and research data initiatives in the lead up to REF 2021. You will contribute to the overall development of library services strategy as part of the Senior Management Team and also contribute to the wider cross-service Academic Services Management Team. 

Excellent communication skills are required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and respond to user feedback to support the ongoing development and enhancement of our library systems and services.  You will have excellent leadership skills and proven experience of managing a team and supporting staff development.
