Responsible to the Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Library Services is key to the achievement of academic and student-centred ambitions, through its provision of high-quality information services that includes Library Collections, Learning Support & Environment and Digital.
Library Services is, both internally and externally, a highly regarded team of professionals. As the new Director you will provide strategic leadership through the next phase of the Services’ growth. This includes the development and further enhancement of a dynamic, customer-focused service with a real emphasis on digital technology, blended approaches to learning and the overall development of a modern, innovative and vibrant library environment for the University’s research and education provision. You will take the lead role in service improvements and change management across the Service and its resources.
Applicants should be educated to degree level and possess a relevant higher degree or postgraduate qualification. We are seeking applicants who are Chartered Members of CILIP and have extensive experience of managing library services in an academic context. Demonstrable experience of developing strategies and a proven track-record of innovation and change management within large and complex organisations is essential.
We are seeking an inspirational leader with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to influence at the highest levels of senior and academic management as you will be expected to be a contributing member of the University’s senior management team.
