CILIP’s Health Libraries Group and Wiley Publishing are inviting applications for the role of Editor-in-Chief for the Health Information & Libraries Journal
The Health Information & Libraries Journal (HILJ) welcomes case studies, evaluations, and research reports outlining successful practices and research from the health information field. We welcome a broad scope of submissions relevant to health knowledge services, health information, and library service workers. Topics include: identifying health information needs; management of services; information retrieval; health and biomedical nomenclatures and taxonomies; mobilising health knowledge; and education and training of knowledge and information professionals.

The Role
We are excited to be seeking a new Editor-in-Chief to build on the Journal’s strong foundations and to continue developing HILJ as a core community resource. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and inclusive editorial team dedicated to upholding high standards and embracing innovative practices. There is an annual honorarium for the role.

The successful candidate will have an international network of contacts and will also ideally have the following:
- Broad and extensive knowledge in the field
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience in journal publishing and editorial decision making
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in publishing
The pace of change in academic publishing is accelerating, and to respond, the Editor-in-Chief will need to work effectively with the Publisher, the Society “Health Libraries Group” (HLG) and Editorial Advisory Board in an efficient way. A flexible and collaborative approach will therefore be essential for the successful applicant.
