About CILIP ILIG Focus
The CILIP International Library and Information Group's special interest is the international aspects of library and information science and knowledge management.
Focus on International Library and Information Work is published at least twice a year and has a proud 50+ year history. It brings together news, reports, interviews and book reviews from librarians and information professionals around the world. It showcases innovations in the library sector and highlights some of the key issues facing the profession. It also aims to give an audience to some of those within librarianship who might otherwise not be heard on an international scale.
Role description
The Editor oversees the process of producing and publishing the journal. This includes article scoping and submission, as well as liaising with the journal’s proof-readers and Content Designer. The Editor also plans the order of the content and summarises this (along with a theme for the issue, if applicable) in their Editorial. They make the final decision on all items appearing in the journal too. In addition, the Editor will regularly seek contributions from library and information professionals globally for publication. Equality, diversity and inclusion is very important to CILIP and to CILIP ILIG, so we aim to encourage diverse and inclusive contributions to the journal, aiming to provide as wide a collection of accounts and experiences in each issue as possible. The Editor will also be a full member of the ILIG Committee and contribute to its work more generally.
