Job Description

The CILIP North West Regional Member Network is recruiting for an Events Officer to join our committee.

Duties

To plan, organise and oversee events within the region. The types of events will include but are not limited to webinars, workshops, conferences, visits and social events. Although you will be the lead on events, the rest of the committee will support you in this role with a working group of committee members for each event.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Produces the programme for events for the year and contributes to the yearly Business Planning document.

  2. Lead on creating sub-groups for events.

  3. Works with the committee to generate potential themes for events, source possible speakers, and to agree annual themes.

  4. Works with the committee to produce promotional material to advertise events and liaises with key committee members to ensure materials are disseminated.

  5. Book venues and catering for events.

  6. Manage online bookings using CILIP’s events system.

  7. Work with the Treasurer to organise delegate payment.

  8. Gather post event evaluation, and disseminate to the committee.

Time Commitment

  1. We have hour-long committee meetings monthly, held over MS Teams. You are not expected to attend every meeting, just when you are able to.

  2. It is expected that you will attend the AGM and Members Day, and every step will be taken when planning the day to ensure all of the committee will be available. The AGM and Members Day is held annually in various locations around the North West, and is held in-person.

  3. We do not expect you to be able to commit to attend every event you are involved in creating, we do expect at least one committee member to be present at each event we host but we encourage this workload to be shared throughout the committee. Events will be held either online or in-person around the region.

We understand this is a voluntary role, and that individual availability may change throughout the year. We aim to be a flexible committee to fit in with your work/life balance, whilst providing you with the opportunity to gain professional experience by supporting a regional network. This role descriptor is not exhaustive as we encourage you to make this role your own.
