Applications are invited for the post of Graduate Trainee in the Library of St Edmund Hall, Oxford for the academic year 2020-2021.
This exciting opportunity is designed for someone intending to proceed to a postgraduate library/information management course. It also provides a third full-time member of staff for the Library, allowing the Library to offer extended services in our collections development, provision for students and outreach. The post involves participating in the Bodleian Libraries’ trainee scheme which offers an intensive training and development opportunity, and the support of a cohort of peers from libraries across the university.
St Edmund Hall is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. The College Library is housed in the 12th-century former parish church of St Peter-in-the-East; it plays a key role in the College’s academic life and is a major resource for teaching and learning. The historic Old Library dates from the 1680's and houses around 4500 old and rare books; it is used for both research and college events including public openings and exhibitions.
