LIBRARY AND LEARNING RESOURCES
Graduate Trainee (Fixed term - 12 months from 17th August 2020)
An exciting opportunity at London South Bank University (LSBU) for an energetic, customer focussed graduate interested in pursuing a career in libraries or related professions.
You will participate in the work of the Customer Services Team in Library and Learning Resources (LLR) carrying out a range of tasks which help with the day to day running of the Library.
The role will contribute to frontline customer service on our help points including IT problem solving for users of varied skills and abilities and answering general information and resource related enquiries; and will participate in shelving items and tidying library spaces.
You'll also take part in a programme of presentations and other activities to learn about the range of work carried out by the teams who make up LLR, which will serve as preparation to undertake a library qualification or apply for future roles in the sector.
We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused and collaborative professional to work with colleagues to provide exceptional services and resources to support student learning, while exemplifying the LSBU values of excellence, professionalism, integrity, inclusivity and creativity. You will be joining a Library and Learning Resources service that prides itself in providing a high level of customer service, demonstrated by our consistently high scores in the National Student Survey.
Working week will be 35 hours per week, and will include weekend work on a rota basis and regular evening work (one evening per week during term-time).
We operate flexitime with a core hours pattern on working days.
