Library Services is at the heart of the student and academic experience at the University of West London, facilitating creation of knowledge and ideas and developing confident, critically information-literate professionals. We place particular value on supporting our institutional mission of extending higher education to those traditionally excluded from it, and in facilitating research and scholarship in ways that connect with equity and widening participation.
We are looking for the right individual to lead our continued evolution in the provision of print and online content and associated technologies that support teaching and learning and research across our physical and virtual spaces.
As a member of the Library Management Team, the post-holder will assist in developing and delivering our strategic objectives and priorities, and will lead in delivery of our underpinning Operational Plan with the Content and Scholarly Communication team.
The preferred candidate will be a pro-active, forward-looking individual with previous experience at a senior or strategic level in one or more of the following areas in a library or academic environment: scholarly communication, open access, legal, or copyright issues; resource management and procurement; or specialist library systems and applications.
They will be well-informed of current developments in library technologies, resource and content management, and scholarly communication; and as a reflective practitioner will be committed to their and their team members' self-directed and self-determined learning.
Closing date: 30th September 2019
Interviews for the role are scheduled for Monday 7 or Tuesday 8 October.
