The University of Worcester's Library Services department is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated colleague as Head of Library Academic Engagement. A member of the departmental Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Library Academic Engagement will lead the delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of the existing high-quality service and the coordination of the Academic Engagement Team with colleagues within Library Services and the wider University. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the post holder will enhance and maintain close and effective relationships with University students and academic colleagues across the institution, supporting them in developing learning and teaching initiatives that meet the needs of our academic community. The post holder will also directly line manage a team of Academic Liaison Librarians, Student Engagement Coordinators and the Partnerships and Transitions Librarian. The successful candidate will be based at Worcester's award-winning library, The Hive - a ground-breaking, fully integrated academic and public library, run in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, which provides services to all members of the University and community.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Higher Education environment, with substantial relevant experience of working in a library setting or a similar environment. Candidates should be educated to degree level, and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of successful leadership and management of both high-performing teams and projects. In particular, the successful candidate will demonstrate substantial experience of planning and delivering academic-related services and a good level of awareness of trends, technologies and initiatives that enable better support of learning and teaching support.
