Circa £51,376 per annum, dependent upon experience
Falmouth Exeter Plus is a unique higher education environment. Our Library & Archives teams, part of a converged Student & Academic Services Directorate, deliver shared services and facilities for Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall, across three campuses, and to a diverse and vibrant student and staff community. All our work is underpinned by close collaboration with our university partners and the FXU (the combined students' union).
What does this role involve?
This is a critical role providing strategic direction and leadership for the delivery and development of Library & Archives as a shared service, to support the strategies of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter in Cornwall.
You’ll work with Academics from both institutions to establish a vision, strategy and development plan for Library & Archives, including our digital strategy, to ensure services continue to develop in an integrated and holistic way and support the evolving teaching, learning and research needs of staff and students. You will lead, manage and develop the staff and budget to deliver excellent learning and research support and outstanding user experience.
What can I bring to the role?
You’ll need a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship / Information management and/or appropriate level of qualification by experience. You’ll come with existing experience of strategic leadership and management of a Library Service at a senior level in a higher education environment (or equivalent complex organisation), with a detailed understanding of the academic Library environment in a Higher Education context.
You’ll have experience of management of significant budgets and strategic resource planning, alongside strong leadership skills and an inclusive, motivating and results oriented management style.
