About the team
The Directorate of Learning and Teaching brings together the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) and Library & Learning Services for staff and students. The Centre for Excellence leads institutional work in relation to the research and evaluation of evidence-driven enhancement of curriculum and pedagogy. This work underpins the University’s achievements in relation to Access and Participation, Teaching Excellence, and the good outcomes of all within our learning community.
Library & Learning Services are at the heart of learning, teaching, and research of our growing University, supporting students at every stage of their learning journey. Our purpose is to be a pillar for academic excellence at the university through our provision and curation of resources and services that facilitate independent learning and research success.
About the role
The Head of Library & Learning Services provides the management and leadership of the core areas and associated services for library customer services, collection management and education and learning. They will develop and support a team of librarians and academic skills advisors and ensure that Library & Learning Services is providing the support, resources, guidance and expertise to enable an excellent student experience from transition through to progression and attainment.
About you
We are looking for an experienced manager of library and related learning services who is interested in the opportunity to lead and manager an evolving team. You will have an awareness of the challenges and potential enhancements for an academic library.
You will have a keen interest in how we develop a service to run effectively and efficiently with a focus on how we continue to improve the student experience. You will have knowledge and experience of evaluation and evidence-informed change and process improvements.
