HLG International Officer

CILIP Health Libraries Group – International Officer Job Role

We are delighted to be advertising for the role of International Officer for Health Libraries Group. This role has been instrumental in developing the relationships HLG has with other international library organisations and we hope to explore these opportunities further. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. To develop and maintain links with other key International health library organisations (e.g. EAHIL, the African Health Libraries Association Library Association (AHILA), the Australian Health Library Association)

    

2. To manage and administrate the bi-annual HLG International bursary for a health librarian from a low income country as identified by the WHO’s HINARI programme.This entails advertising the bursary, arranging and contributing to a panel judging the applications received, and arranging a bespoke study programme for the successful candidate to coincide with the HLG conference, including making all practical arrangements for their visit.

    

3. To attend quarterly HLG committee meetings, provide feedback reports, and contribute to the HLG business planning process.

    

4. To participate and respond to relevant CILIP International forums on behalf of HLG

The amount of time this role takes up will vary and during certain times of the year may increase.
