We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, to fill a full time, temporary Information Librarian vacancy within the Academic Services section of the University of Bath Library.  This post will work with and support both the Humanities and Social Sciences and Science subject teams.

Applicants should have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information studies or equivalent, to at least degree level, or clear commitment to completion if not yet awarded.

As an Information Librarian you will be responsible for answering information and resource related enquiries from library users at all levels.  You will assist Faculty and Subject Librarians in preparing and delivering library induction and information skills teaching, and on occasion will design and deliver training sessions yourself.  In addition, you will support the Faculty and Subject Librarians in all areas of collection development, management and promotion, and in the preparation of library guidance, instructional and publicity materials, in various formats, both in print and online.  You should be innovative and collaborative in your work, with excellent communication skills.

You will join a dedicated, professional team of Library staff committed to the continual development of services to support the University’s strategy: to deliver world-class research and teaching, extend the University’s international influence, and enrich the student experience.  We understand the importance of continued professional development for all Library staff in order to achieve this, and provide programmes of local opportunities, and support involvement in appropriate external activities.
