Information Officer - London, Liverpool or Manchester - Law

An international law firm with multiple UK locations has a requirement for an Information Officer. This role can be based from multiple UK locations and offers agile working, and is a role in which the successful candidate will provide a mix of research, library and knowledge management tasks as part of the Information and Research Services team. 

In this Information Officer role, the successful applicant will have the following responsibilities and objectives:

  • Providing a centralised point of contact for both legal and business research and information requests
  • Assisting stakeholders and new joiners with the provision of training on information resources, the majority of which are electronic based
  • Support the firms Knowledge Management lifecycle 
  • Driving engagement with the Information Services function throughout the firm
  • Assisting with departmental administration and management, including managing vendor relationships and assisting with procurement

Suitable candidates for this Information Officer role will need the following experience and skills:

  • A qualification in a library or information related discipline either at bachelors or post-graduate level
  • Experience in a similar Information Officer role. This could suit someone seeking a sideways or upward step in their career
  • Highly developed customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A strong knowledge of mainstream information resources such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
  • Experience in the provision of a current awareness service, ideally using Manzama
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly grasp new systems and processes. Experience with iManage would be highly desirable
  • The ability to manage conflicting priorities and stakeholder requests
