This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as we have expanded our Evidence Search Service to meet the increasing business need and diversify the evidence support offered by the Nottinghamshire Healthcare Library and Knowledge Services team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual who will engage and work with all teams and services across the trust to understand, train and satisfying their information needs to enable access to the best evidence at the point of need.

The ideal candidate will have experience of literature searching, excellent IT skills, communication skills, and the ability to prioritise their workload. But importantly the ability to train and develop their skills to deliver all aspects of the role if they don’t already have experience in them.

The role is based at Duncan Macmillan Staff Library in Mapperley, Nottingham, but we would be able to accommodate a combination of home/base working to be agreed with the successful candidate.  

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake literature searches including systematic reviews of medical, health care and other bibliographic databases, and summarising results
  • Developing standards, analysing feedback, and continuously developing the evidence search service.
  • Embedded working within trust sites/teams developing specialist subject knowledge and building strong working relationships with clinicians.
  • Develop and deliver training to the organisation on techniques of using a range of different databases and electronic resources i.e. literature/systematic review searching, critical appraisal
  • Responsibility for maintaining and developing the Trust’s Evidence Repository and current awareness service.
  • Undertake user needs analyses using a range of techniques such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Collaborate to improve and maintain access to electronic evidence resources.
  • Provide general professional services to library users including taking part in the enquiry desk rota.
