Job Description

GCHQ

Knowledge and Information Management Practitioners

Salary: £18,920 - £33,580 (depending on experience)

Location: Cheltenham

Intelligence needs information and information needs management.

Here at GCHQ, we have a clear purpose - we want to help protect the UK. We work against cyber-attacks, terrorism and espionage. So, everyone who works here, works towards that goal. But we always do it together, supporting each other every step of the way. We’re proud to collaborate, and even prouder to work with purpose.

Information plays a huge part in all our lives. So it’s right at the heart of GCHQ. Now, we’re looking for someone to help us manage, protect and use a whole range of data. Proactive and with excellent communication skills, you’ll get to grips with every challenge you face and help us make the most of our information. You’ll provide training and expert advice on best practice    to colleagues, manage our archives and make sure our systems are being used in the best way. It’s about inspiring others to work together and share knowledge across different platforms.

There’s a range of exciting roles available at different levels. A degree is essential for some (Knowledge & Information Management Practitioner and Information Management Team Leader) but not all. Whatever your chosen role, you must bring a passion for keeping the UK safe. We’ll give you all the training, development and support you’ll need. You’ll also need to be a team player with experience of working with customers. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of information management trends. But, most importantly, you’ll be keen to get to grips with how we work. Thriving in a supportive environment, you’ll either choose a specialism or work on more varied projects.
