LGBTQ+ Digital Champion Role Description

Purpose of role: To develop and maintain the LGBTQ+ Network’s presence on cilip.org.uk/lgbtq and social media accounts across Facebook, Discord, and Twitter. This role is open to people who identify as LGBTQ+ or Queer. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Manage the Networks web and Social Media presence (training will be provided for CILIP YM system).

  2. Produce new content and write it in an interesting, appealing, and suitable manner appropriate for the web or social media.

  3. Ensure the content of the Network’s website is accurate and up-to-date.

  4. Liaise with the events team to ensure event documents are accessible. 

  5. Liaise with committee members regarding the development of web content.

Free memberships for library and information workers from BAME backgrounds

As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, the CILIP Board has set an organisation-wide goal of 20% ethnic minority representation on all of CILIP’s boards and committees by the end of 2022. To facilitate this, we are offering up to 150 complimentary memberships to library, knowledge and information workers from ethnic minority backgrounds who are duly selected to join a committee before the end of 2022. This offer is open to CILIP members and non-members.

The amount of time this role takes up will vary and may be 1-3 hours per month and during events is likely to increase.
