Job Description

The Museum’s mission is to tell the story of Our Army and the people who have served in it; to inspire, engage and educate, though our World Class Museum and Collections. Through our galleries and innovative exhibitions and public programme, the public can explore what it’s like to be a soldier, why we fought in conflicts – past and present, and discover the impact the Army has had on our society.

We are looking for people with a passion for our mission and subject to join our team.

We are seeking to appoint a Librarian who will work as part of the Research and Academic Access team delivering public access to our collections, and care for and grow our world-class British military history library collections. Your role will be integral to the way the public access the Museum’s collections in the Templer Study Centre, and you will take responsibility for managing the library collection of over 60,000 books and periodicals – one of the largest British military history collections in the UK.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced librarian looking for a subject-specialist library, with an interest in British military history, or someone looking to take the lead in growing and caring for a world class library collection. Your expertise in information and library science will help deliver the Museum’s reclassification project and ensure the library collection is managed to the highest industry standards.
