Library Central Services Manager
£46,494 - £48,544
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bristol Libraries’ management team of 4, as the Library Central Services Manager. There are 27 libraries in Bristol and we are in a time of change and collaboration with communities to extend the use of the service and buildings. We are building and establishing partnerships and working on projects throughout the city.
Bristol is a vibrant and independent city with a rich cultural offer and we are uniquely placed to offer quality and community events through the Central Library and supporting our branch network.
The Central Library is the main hub for library services and is a busy and beautiful building. It is highly visible and a focal point for events and activities. The management of the space can be complex and challenging as are all listed buildings of this age, but Bristol Libraries are determined to work with local, citywide, regional and national organisations to showcase our collections and services.
You would be an experienced manager, able to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and staff, working at speed with an empathic approach to communities and residents who are an essential part of our service, as we shape services locally to reflect their priorities.
You would work closely with the management team, representing the service at city and regional meetings as we also work as part of the LibrariesWest consortium.
You would be responsible for the strategic management of Bristol Central Library as the flagship Grade 1 listed Central Library and by managing the Stock Team, which includes the Stock Manager and Stock Librarians and the managers of the Central Library.
