Library Manager
Full-time Permanent Role - 35 hours per week.
£55k per annum
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive information professional to oversee front-line services, training, and communications.
We are interested in applicants with management experience, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to get things done. You are most likely to have a background in academic or professional libraries. While experience in law librarianship may be beneficial, subject training will be provided for a candidate displaying the right overall aptitude.

Gray’s Inn is one of the four Inns of Court which have the exclusive right to call men and women to the Bar of England and Wales. The Inn provides continuing legal education post-qualification, the Library, the Chapel, dining, scholarships, advocacy training and other facilities for students and barristers.
Gray’s Inn Library
The Library houses over 75,000 books, journals, and law reports, including rare books and manuscripts dating back to the 12th century. It provides the full range of standard legal sources, as well as collections in over twenty specialist areas of law, including its flagship international law collection. The Library also offers a range of online resources, a professional enquiry service, a document supply service, and training in legal research.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Acting as operations manager of the Library.
- Co-ordinating and contributing to training, communications, and events.
- Line managing the Graduate Trainees, Library Assistant, and Evening Assistants.
- Deputising for the Director of Library Services.
- Contributing to budgeting and collection development decisions.
