Library Resources Assistant
Location: London – hybrid working 2 days minimum in the office
Salary: circa £29,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full time 35 hr week or Part time 28 hr week.
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious corporate Library in the heart of the City of London. The role is integral to supporting the enquiry and research needs of ICAEW members, and the wider accountancy profession, by procuring and helping manage our information resources and internal publications.
Overall purpose
To provide administrative support to the Library’s collection management function.
Main responsibilities
The main tasks of this varied role include ordering, receiving and claiming all printed material, including serials, and processing all order payments, as well as carrying out some book processing, looseleafing, shelving and moving small amounts of stock.
The successful candidate should have excellent organisational skills, show attention to detail, be good at multi-tasking and be an enthusiastic problem solver. The role may suit someone looking to expand their experience. IT literacy and familiarity with library management systems is essential, but training will be given on the system used by the Library (SIRSI Symphony). Whilst this role is not customer facing, good communication skills are required as there will be close liaison with both colleagues and suppliers.
Regular travel to our off-site archive in Milton Keynes will be required, and we expect this to be monthly. All such travel expenses are reimbursed.
