Job Description

Victoria & Albert Museum

Word & Image Department, V&A

Operations Librarian

Fixed term until 31 March 2023

£27,385-£32,914

The Word & Image Department (WID) provides access to its collections through the National Art Library reading rooms, the Prints & Drawings Study Room and the Archive & Library Study Room at Blythe House.

We are seeking a confident, energetic and collaborative Operations Librarian to manage the physical collections in the National Art Library (NAL) and to participate in all aspects of the NAL’s public service, both in our reading rooms and online.

You will play an important part in planning for current and planned new storage locations for NAL collections, in consultation with senior colleagues and project staff. This fixed term role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the Library for the future at a time of significant change, while the current post holder is on secondment.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in librarianship or information work and a proven ability to manage staff, resources and projects relating to library storage.

You will be a highly motivated team player, a practical problem-solver and have a demonstrable commitment to delivering excellent customer services in a library environment.
