About the Role

This is a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension. Please note the vacancy is also open to being part time over 3 days per week. 

The Museum of the Order of St John has an extensive collection of c.60,000 objects, charting the story of the Order from its foundation in Jerusalem in c.1080, to its present day role as a global humanitarian organisation, known primarily through its main charitable output, St John Ambulance. Contained within the Museum’s collections is an historic library of c. 4000 books, dating from the 15th century onwards.

As Project Librarian, you will sort, appraise, catalogue and order the Museum’s historic library to a recognised library standard of classification. This will enable greater academic research and increase awareness, through the creation of a comprehensive, standardised, and searchable catalogue of the Museum’s historic library holdings.

About You

As an experienced librarian with recognised CLIP qualifications, you will have strong project management experience, ideally, gained working with historic library collections and will have strong stakeholder management and planning experience.
