Senior Digital Library Advisor

Exciting position as Senior Digital Library Advisor which plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality library services

 ABOUT THE ROLE

The SDLA post forms that of a deputy to the Customer Services Manager and providing direct support for the front-line library teams. The key duties of the SDLA role within the Customer Services team includes; the recruitment, training and management of the Library Support Assistant team (students) You will be managing the staffing of the Library reception desk, ensuring careful management and planning around staffing hours, employee breaks and working from-home patterns. Working collaboratively with the other SDLAs around the management of the Scan and Send/Share services, you will be promoting both services to University staff and students and ensuring the careful adherence to copyright law and the correct management of the Talis reading list management software. 

 ABOUT YOU

You will have experience in Management/leadership, as well as of managing or leading teams, and the ability to adapt leadership stye for different staffing groups. You will be a problem solver and assist with managing the library staffing rota, which at times can be complex. You will enjoy working collaboratively with peers on joint projects and responsibilities, which can include working with follow SDLAs, wider University stakeholders, or external groups. You will work well under pressure, be flexible and reliable, have the ability to work accurately without close supervision, whilst always being an enthusiastic champion of digital learning.
