As a Senior Information Manager you will be an expert in information retrieval and exploitation. Your work will focus on leading the delivery of specialist information searches and developing outputs in line with customer requirements, providing advice on information rights, and supporting the development of colleagues and customers through training and guidance to embed best practice across the business and enable information management to become incorporated into Business As Usual.

Job description

In this role you will:

  • Lead the delivery of advanced literature searches for customers and oversee the work of less experienced colleagues.
  • Lead the development of bibliographies for customers using reference management software.
  • Deliver basic bibliometric analyses for customers using tools available within Dstl’s database subscriptions (e.g. Web of Science).
  • Advise customers on the most appropriate information retrieval, exploitation and management tools and techniques to address their specific needs.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a comprehensive understanding of the benefits that good knowledge and information management bring to a business.
  • Can advocate for the benefits of good information management to stakeholders at all levels (including senior staff) and tailor their message to their audience.
  • Can articulate the benefits of good knowledge management to different stakeholders and tailor their message to their audience.
  • Has extensive experience in delivering advanced literature searches using a range of different sources and to complex requirements.
