We are seeking a qualified information professional to join the UK's leading child protection information service as part of our busy library team, managing the development and delivery of our enquiry and research services.
The NSPCC's Knowledge and Information Service is the most comprehensive resource on safeguarding and child protection in the UK. Through our website, NSPCC Learning, we provide information and resources for anyone working or volunteering with children and young people. Our specialist library in London contains a wide selection of UK and international materials on child protection, safeguarding, child abuse, child neglect and related topics.
The Senior Information Specialist (Research and Enquiries) manages the enquiries desk, including supervising a team of Information Specialists, and co-ordinates complex literature searches to support NSPCC research and evidence services. In addition, all Senior Information Specialists undertake weekly enquiry and cataloguing work and assist with the promotion of services through inductions and training, as well as written communications. This role will include line management responsibility.
We are looking for applicants with significant experience of delivering high-quality, customer-focussed library and information services and a strong background in answering enquiries and supporting research activities in a specialised field.

- the ability to write and present complex information clearly and concisely for different audiences

- a proven ability to manage, supervise and motivate a small team to deliver quality services

This post is suitable for hybrid working. The postholder will work closely with the Library Services Manager, Senior Information Specialists and Information Specialists, providing in-person services at our London office in Shoreditch for 3 days per week, with the option to work from home for 2 days per week.
