Job Description

The Royal College of Art is the UK’s only entirely postgraduate institution of art and design, dedicated to teaching, research and knowledge exchange with industry. The College is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Library Assistant who will be part of a team providing a proactive, efficient and responsive library service to students and staff. The appointed person will be responsible for the Inter Library Loan service as well as processing requests for scanned material from academic staff under the terms of the Copyright Licensing Agency's Higher Education Licence.

They will be required to participate in the provision of the enquiry service, in person and online in the library at our Kensington campus as well as helping to deliver library services to students and staff based at the College’s Battersea and White City campuses.

It is essential that applicants have experience of delivering an Inter-Library loan service and scanning service. Knowledge of CLA and copyright issues in an HE environment is desirable.

Applicants must have a proven customer-focused approach in providing an efficient and helpful service and be flexible and willing to adapt to meet changing circumstances.

The role will include an evening and Saturday shift on a rota basis. This is a campus-based role with limited flexibility to work from home.
