Job Description

Cornwall Health Library provides information and resources to healthcare staff and students across Cornwall. We pride ourselves on contributing to patient care by offering evidence and training to our diverse user groups which include; all NHS staff roles, general practitioners, hospice staff, paramedics and medical, dental, nursing and midwifery students. The main library is based in the Knowledge Spa on the Royal Cornwall Hospital site and provides a physical space that supports our users’ work, learning and wellbeing .

Our library team is friendly and works hard to support each other. We need a new team member with a library qualification or other relevant experience to help us provide our excellent service. As Subject Librarian, the role is strongly focussed on:

  • Providing a robust, pro-active and responsive library service to the staff and students of the University of Exeter Medical School.
  • Library inductions and teaching search skills for the university staff and students
  • Supporting wider activity of NHS organisations and the University of Plymouth School of Nursing and Midwifery, across Cornwall by retrieving the best evidence through searching a range of resources to inform patient care, service provision and research.

We are looking for a skilled, pro-active, confident and compassionate individual to join our team.

This is an exciting role, where the post-holder will have the opportunity to develop their library and leadership skills whilst supported by a knowledgeable and caring team.

This post will be based in Cornwall Health Library on the Treliske site in Truro.

The post commences from or after the 6th September 2021.
