Salary: £27,929 to £31,412 pro rata per annum


UWE Bristol is one of the largest universities in the South West and one of the largest employers in the Bristol region. We currently have an opportunity for two half time (18.5 hours/week) Subject Support Librarians. One post will have a specific focus on the College of Business and Law (CBL) and be based at the Frenchay Campus Library. The second post will support the College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS) and be based at the Glenside Campus Library.

About you

You will be a qualified Librarian (or working towards qualification) with experience in teaching/training and developing students’ academic literacy.

You will have:

  • Professional qualification, or working towards a professional qualification, in a library/information related subject, e.g., CILIP or equivalent. (For those working towards a professional qualification, the expectation is that this is awarded within the probation period/approx. 6 months of starting in post).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, such as working towards: Chartered membership of CILIP, a teaching qualification or a management qualification.
  • Experience of working in a library/information environment.
  • Experience of providing teaching/training to groups of students and/or staff.
  • Experience of helping to develop academic literacy (e.g. information skills/academic writing).
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of email, MS Office applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint/Teams), online collaborative and web-based systems, and able to extract and manipulate data to produce reports.
