Job Description

 CILIP North West Member Network is the voice for CILIP members in the North West, representing our members on national matters and offering support and professional development opportunities whether they live in Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, the Isle of Man, Greater Manchester or Merseyside. We at CILIP North West welcome any CILIP Member volunteers who live, work or study in the North West!

We are currently looking for a Vice-Chair to join our friendly and supportive committee. The Vice Chair will work alongside the Chair with a view to taking over this role in due course.


To provide assistant leadership to enable the Chair to meet the Network's aims and objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. To assist the Chair in ensuring that the mission and aims are of the Network are clearly defined and in-line with CILIP’s overall mission and aims.
  2. To preside at committee and other Member Network meetings when the Chair is not present and ensure that the decisions made are in line with the aims and objectives of the Network.
  3. To support the Chair in their role, taking over some of the Chair’s workload when necessary or when asked to.
  4. Act, alongside the Chair, as the voice of CILIP in the North West.

Time Commitment

  1. It is anticipated you will attend three committee meetings per year in the North West. These meetings are currently taking place online.
  2. As Vice Chair you will be expected to attend the AGM and members day and support the Chair as appropriate both in advanced preparations and on the day itself. The AGM and members day is held annually in various locations around the North West.
  3. The amount of time this role takes up will vary is approximately 1-2 hours per week.
