Job Description

The Methodist Council are seeking four new Volunteer Members of the Methodist Heritage Committee to assist with their work. The Committee aims to protect, advocate and advance the interests of Methodist Heritage throughout the Connexion.

Are you seeking to use your skills, expertise and gifts in a new way?

Do you have a passion for and understanding of church history, heritage or archives?

Do you have experience in one or more of these areas: the challenges of historic churches; churches as visitor destinations and venues; communicating and sharing history with the general public; managing museums, galleries or historic houses; professional curatorial experience; records management and archiving?

Could you make a significant contribution to an important and hardworking body in the Methodist Church?

The Committee normally meets two times per year; one of these meetings is usually an in-person away day. In between, working groups support specific projects or advise on responding to public enquiries.

Term of appointment: To start from August 2023. Six years.

Join us in the work of protecting, sharing and learning from our history, for the glory of God. Applications are welcomed via our website, before the closing date of midday on the 21st June 2023.

As an inclusive organisation, we welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian and other Minority Ethnic groups (BAME), as they are currently under-represented within the committees.
