We serve library and information professionals living and/or working in Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. We also cover the non-metropolitan districts of Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leicester, Nottingham, Rutland, Sandwell, Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford & Wrekin, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Interest in our activities from the wider library and information services community is welcomed.
Aims and Objectives are to open a dialogue with staff across all sectors of librarianship, to host an annual Member's Day which attracts speakers and attendees across professions and at different stages in their career and also to support members in their professional development. The rural nature of the Midlands, combined with smaller towns as well as cities can mean that working in the region brings its challenges!
Improve your CPD by joining the Committee - you don't have to commit much time - but sharing your thoughts and ideas would help us make the region fit for the needs of the members. Contact chair.midlands@cilip.org.uk to discuss what you could contribute.
